16 Years IFO at Chevron Shorebase

The team at the Chevron Shorebase in Port Fourchon, LA, has completed another year of Incident Free Operations. By accomplishing that feat, it is 16 consecutive years that the team at the shorebase has worked without a recordable incident. It is remarkable to accomplish that in a single year, much less for 16 years. Something of this magnitude could not be accomplished without great leadership and a culture that is committed to safety; both of these are at the forefront of the success of the shorebase.

Danos supplies logistical support in the form of expediters, shipping clerks, receiving clerks, data entry clerks, and dispatchers. These Danos employees work hand in hand with Chevron and C-Port 3 personnel to complete incident-free operations on a daily basis. The crews are responsible for loading and offloading trucks as well as offshore supply vessels on a daily basis. All of the loading is completed by using forklifts and overhead cranes, which involves hundreds of lifts daily. The shorebase operation supports all of Chevron’s production and drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The service that Danos provides to Chevron is critical to Chevron’s success.

Congratulations on 16 years of Incident Free Operations!!!

"Culture is a big part of it. 16 years is a lot of safe workdays. That doesn’t happen when you’re not working safely EVERY day." – Production Services Operations Manager Michael Guidry

“This facility is regarded around the globe for how we work efficiently and safely. We get calls all the time to consult this group on how to tackle a particular challenge. I appreciate all you do to work safe.” - Chevron Greg Jones GGOM (Greater Gulf of Mexico) Strategic Planning Marine Manager

“Today we celebrate 16 years incident-free work. That is to be commended. Not many groups get to say that. It takes great leadership to make that happen. Great communication and teamwork keep that going. Congratulations all.” – Account Manager Troy Gisclair
