2019 Open Enrollment For Benefits

By: The Pipeline

From November 19, 2018 to December 14, 2018, we will have our annual open enrollment for benefits with an effective date of January 1, 2019. Open enrollment gives you the opportunity to make changes (electing coverage, adding a dependent, or cancelling coverage) to your medical, dental, and vision insurance without experiencing a qualifying event.

Please note that long-term disability, short-term disability, and life can be cancelled at any time. Employees that do not currently have disability or life insurance benefits can apply any time as a late enrollee by answering a medical questionnaire.

Danos now has a Benefits Administration System through our payroll company, ADP. All benefit enrollments or changes must be done online this year. Employees should use their ADP user names/password to enroll and make changes to their Danos benefits. Please visit ADP Workforce Now to get started. If you do not have an ADP account, you will click on Sign Up to create your account. Once you log-in, you will begin seeing the Open Enrollment prompts.

While the entire employee benefits guide contains important information, some of the highlights are as follows:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana will remain the carrier for medical insurance. The three options that will be offered are an $800 deductible, $2500 deductible, and $4000 high deductible plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA) option. If an employee elects to enroll in a HSA, Danos will be increasing the HSA contribution to $500 for single coverage and $1000 for family coverage in 2019. See the Benefits Guide for rate changes.
  • Lincoln will remain the carrier for dental and vision insurance. Rates will remain the same.
  • The Hartford will remain the carrier for short-term and long-term disability and voluntary life insurance. Note that all new STD/LTD/Life enrollments must go through underwriting and be approved by The Hartford. If elected, employees will receive an Evidence of Insurability directly from The Hartford. Rates will remain the same.
  • Flexible Spending- This is also the time for our annual open enrollment for the Flexible Spending Account Plan – Medical and Dependent Day Care. Employees planning to defer into a Flexible Spending Account for the plan year 2019 must complete the enrollment form online via ADP, regardless of participation in 2018.
