4WARD: Fabrication Focus

By: Mark Danos

As a refresher to all, Fabrication Focus was created when we realized the need to be strategic with our fabrication offering. We had an asset in Amelia with tremendous potential and another in Larose with great capability and history, but the two together provided us with more capacity than the market needed. Fabrication Focus addressed the challenge of combining surplus capacity with tremendous potential through 4 themes…consolidate, optimize, integrate, and focus.

We are nearly 10 months into this process and are seeing the fruits of our labor through what we now call AISC (Amelia Integrated Services Complex). With a growing back log in Amelia, we are seeing potential converting to action. We are still not where we want to be yet, but I want to commend the team for keeping focused on the goal and the process.

We have an outstanding quality record and recently achieved the milestone of 8 years recordable free. That combination is what is leading our customers back to us for more support. What continues to drive Fabrication Focus forward is the continuity of our fabrication team and the strong leadership there.

Here are a few recent and upcoming milestones worth celebrating

  • Mike Theriot makes 34 years in September
  • Randy Hood makes 24 years in December
  • Eric Hood made 21 years in June
  • Clint Worley made 17 years in May
  • Karl Larousse makes 17 years in October
  • Shawn Cook make 12 years in November
  • Cervando Rayes makes 11 years in October
  • Mike Dufrene made 9 years in September
