Bias to Action - Cuong Nguyen

Making Training Count

Recently, Danos was in need of having Vietnamese speaking employees trained in order to work on the Shell Brutus project. After speaking with Paul Mendel (Training Manager) at Shell Robert Training Center, Shell agreed to go into a venture with Danos in which we would provide a single, dedicated Vietnamese speaking instructor to work alongside the rigging instructors from Sparrows.

Cuong Nguyen, 2013 Danos Field Employee of the Year, responded to our request. He spent 3 days in a “train-the-trainer” session with Nate Hulsman (Sparrow’s Instructor) and then was able to help facilitate the needed training. Since that initial engagement, Cuong has taught more rigging classes and has also expanded his efforts, participating as an instructor in a Vietnamese Water Survival Course as well. Cuong was recently recognized by Shell’s Operations Services and Project Support Leadership Team at their monthly HSE Award Recognition Session on May 19th. Cuong stepped up to the challenge to help Danos get the job done by exhibiting the Danos high performance culture traits of Bias to Action, Participates in Coaching and Passionate About Winning!!! Great job Cuong!
