On May 15, 2017, Danos transcended four other contractors to win the first lump sum coatings bid offered by Shell in the Gulf of Mexico. Everyone in Shell Exploration & Production Company Upstream Americas as well as Shell Global will be looking at how this project is managed from both the contractor stand point and Shell’s stand point.

This excerpt came from the operations manager for Olympus:

“Olympus Community,

Last year we made the decision to postpone the paint campaign with a commitment to maintain our 10-year master paint plan. I am happy to announce that Danos has been selected to support Olympus’ paint program in 2017. Over the years, I have been impressed with Danos’ professionalism and high standard of work and look forward to having them as members of the Olympus community. The paint program is scheduled to begin early June, so please make an effort to introduce yourself to the crew once they arrive and welcome them aboard.”

The Danos crew mobilized June 5th, 2017 and immediately began rigging the underside of the platform and setting up equipment as part of the project scope.
