Danos Materials Management Team Recognized at Westlake Campus

On November 13, Rob Salter with BP Exploration addressed our Danos materials management team at the BP Westlake campus in Houston in regards to Puma. Puma is a well in the Gulf of Mexico that BP entered into a joint venture with before the lease expiration date. BP was up against time as they only had five months to begin planning, preparing and executing the drilling of the well.

Rob wanted to share his commendation and gratitude to several of our Danos team members. Ahmad Allam, Gary Terranova, Carlos Guzman and Lisa Kudchadker played a pivotal role to ensure that the demand of deliverables was accomplished in a safe and cost effective manner over a short span of time.

Material Coordinator Ahmad Allam had only three months to prepare for the well. Ahmad faced many obstacles due to no stock and not enough lead-time for the purchased equipment. During the well-active phase, numerous issues came up that needed immediate attention. Ahmad worked diligently and masterfully 24/7 by coordinating with vendors and logistics to make things happen.

Oil Country Tubular GOods (OCTG) Planner Gary Terranova was tasked with viewing current GoM OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) demand versus available quantities. He the produced purchase orders which required a great deal of time and effort to re-allocate existing stock allocations to satisfy current well requirements. He made an effort to use existing stock and avoided purchasing new material, approximately 18,000 feet of various OCTG sizes, valued at $2.2M, which was submitted for approval before the spud date. This required additional support from Danos team members, Disposition Specialists Carlos Guzman and Lisa Kudchadker, to process the surplus declaration form, receive approval from the line, submit multiple JV partner letters and transfer the footage across assets.

BP Director of PSCM Greg Dyer also expressed his gratitude to all our Danos team at the Westlake Campus and explained that this is just a snippet of the excellent work that our Danos team members do on a regular basis. Congratulations to our team members at BP Westlake who continually live up to our Danos values, vision and purpose.
