Danos has been contracted by Chevron to do the hook up and commissioning work for the Jack and St. Malo (JSM) oilfields in the Gulf of Mexico – our biggest offshore construction project in company history! We currently have construction and coatings crews – over 200 workers in all – working at JSM. The initial contract work is expected to last into 2015, with the opportunity for multiple service lines to work on JSM well beyond that.
You don't know Jack!
The JSM fields are located within 25 miles of each other and are being jointly developed with a host floating production unit (FPU) located between the two fields in 7,000 feet of water, about 280 miles south of New Orleans. The facility is planned to have a design capacity of 177,000 barrels of oil-equivalent per day. Total project cost for the initial phase of the development is estimated at $7.5 billion. The JSM floating production unit (FPU) is roughly the height of a 30-story building, and has the dimensions of a football field.
