Empowering Teamwork and Living the Value of Service

BP requires business partners to perform background checks on employees as a means to better manage security risks offshore. Earlier this year, BP began requiring that all screens had to be conducted through the same background check company. Our team quickly responded and started planning out the process to work with the new background check company as outlined in the following timeline:

April – HR Manager Scott Friedlander (pictured left) organized a meeting with Production Supervisor Josh Boudreaux (left middle), Account Manager Mark King (right middle), HR Specialist Anita Fuselier (right) and a BP representative. The team was provided details about the new requirements and the timeline for implementation with regards to our existing BP GOM employees. In order to become credentialed, Anita worked with accounts payable and risk management to provide the required documentation and application.

May – The on-site inspection was conducted at Danos headquarters. Notice of credentialing was received, and Danos was approved to run the background checks.

June – Mark King sent out new consent notices to all affected employees. Consent is required by federal law in order to obtain the background screen. Seventy-nine total background screenings were completed as the signed consent forms were received. The human resources team was also trained on the new procedures.

August 1 – The pilot period ended, and all of our employees were compliant thanks to the consistant monitoring throughout implementation. The BP background screen was added as a requirement to EMS to ensure this step was covered in the hiring process.

This was a great team effort with everyone working across various department and a great example of our high performance culture in action. Thanks to Scott Friedlander, Mark King, Josh Boudreaux, Anita Fuselier, and all involved by empowering teamwork and working collaboratively to live the values of Danos by providing BP with excellent customer service.
