Former Intern Lands Job at Chevron

In August of this year, former Danos intern Shantel Tanner began working as an operator trainee on a deep water Gulf of Mexico platform with Chevron.

A native of Dulac, La., Shantel graduated from Fletcher Technical Community College in December 2018. While in school, Shantel participated in Danos' internship program as an intern operator on BHP's Neptune platform. Shantel's internship was initially slated to last six months, but it was extended to nine months total.

“I learned a lot that was totally different from what I saw in school,” said Shantel of the internship. “It extended my knowledge and gave a firm foundation to start my career.”

Much like her internship, Shantel's current role is a 14 day on and off rotation, and to her, the opportunity to be back offshore is truly a blessing. “I feel like I have finally found a job that I really enjoy doing,” she says.
