Gas Plant Project Completed Ahead of Schedule

By: Corey Conley

On Oct. 26, Danos met with the Williams representatives in Markham, Texas regarding an unexpected internal failure of a Train II Reboiler unit. During the 51-day project, Danos provided project-management support, extensive project-planning support, pipe fabrication on a very limited schedule, and a construction crew that worked tirelessly to remove and replace the failed unit.

The new unit was built in Wisconsin and trucked nonstop day and night to make the near 1400 mile journey. Once it arrived on-site, our crew ran point on the install and hook-up of the new unit. Within 30 hours, the new Train II Reboiler was turned over to Williams Operations to begin introducing gas into the system. Not one flange leaked!

Needless to say, the Williams folks were quite excited to complete this project ahead of schedule right before Christmas. Not only did we help get the facility back up and running at full capacity, this allowed numerous folks to be able to take their vacation time before the end of the year. It was truly an early Christmas gift for those guys.

Danos Keys to Success:

  • Great HSE leadership on-site who assisted in keeping this project incident and accident-free. The safety culture of the crew was impressive. No safety issues to note.
  • Our team showed great integrity and professionalism throughout this project, especially our Superintendent Ramie Guidry, who came in early and stayed late every day to make sure nothing was overlooked.
  • The service we provided on this project was second to none. This helped us get the Train II unit back up and running days ahead of schedule.

On the last day of the job, Williams treated the guys to a well-deserved catered barbecue lunch.

Again I want to thank all those involved with making this project such as success, especially at this time of the year.
