Danos’ I&E group, API Control System Solutions, would like to spotlight one of their new employees in the control panel fabrication department. Lauren Lewis is currently serving in the Louisiana National Guard as a Sergeant in an Engineering Brigade. She has deployed twice to Haiti where the team constructed school houses and Medical clinics; and once to Germany. In her few years in the Guard she’s received the Soldier of the Year Award and has also represented Louisiana in The Best Warrior Competition. She has worked Logistics and Operations for the Yellow Ribbon Program and until recently was the Team leader for Military Funeral Honors. She has performed over 120 funerals this fiscal year, taught two 40-hour courses, and certified nine soldiers to perform Military Funerals at the most professional level. Lauren commented, “it is a great honor to be part of such a wonderful program and to render that final salute to our fallen comrades.”

Lauren was recently hired by API’s Fabrication Department Manager, Brandon Verret, and is quickly learning from her experienced mentors.

“Since I’ve been here I can see how everyone works as a team to complete the task and encourages coaching and input from their workers. API shares similar company values to the military and that’s what stands out to me. I am thrilled to be in the position and I hope I can continue to grow with the company”, said Lauren.
