Hendricks' Heroics

Fabrication Foreman Jerry Hendricks Sr. and Project Coordinator Jerry Hendricks Jr. were leaving the house on Sunday, July 24 when they noticed smoke rising up from a house down the street.  Jerry Jr. told his dad to ride down to check it out. When they got there, a mother was rushing her wheelchair bound little girl out of the house. Jerry Jr. ran under the carport to ensure they made it safely away from the burning house.

At that point, Jerry Jr. brought the girl into his dad’s truck to calm her down. Jerry Jr. said, “After getting just a taste of what firefighters go through, I have a newfound respect for what they do. Not only do they put their lives on the line to rescue victims, they also help comfort them through a dramatizing situation.”

Unsung heroes live and work amongst us.

Jerry defiantly demonstrated his bias to action and service to the community for the actions he took.
