Houston Hotshot for Harvey

By: Michael Guidry

On Monday, Sept. 4 at 4:15 p.m., a request for 7 vans came in from our team in Houston, Texas working on our Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The request was to have the 7 vans delivered to Houston from Louisiana on Tuesday, Sept. 5—the very next day. The transport team met briefly at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning before heading to the Enterprise rental car facility in Lafayette, Louisiana to secure the much needed vans.

Since the vans were coming in from different areas across the state, the team was uncertain as to when all of the vans were arriving. At 2 p.m. the team began their journey to Shell's Hurricane Harvey Relief Center in Houston. The normal 3-hour drive lasted nearly 6 hours. The team dropped off the vans and, after a quick stop to eat dinner at Buc-ee’s, traveled through the night to arrive back at Danos headquarters at 3 a.m. The team members below deserve a big thank you for their commitment to service:
