How Danos Gives Is Making An Impact In Our Communities

The Danos Foundation asks each grant recipient to provide a brief recap of how their organization used the grant they received from Danos Gives. Hope Extreme used their grant to focus on helping students have opportunities to learn and grow throughout the summer.

A message from Hope Extreme Executive Director Tara Detiveaux:

Wow! What a summer for Hope Extreme. And we want to thank Danos for being a part of it. This summer we focused on helping our students have opportunities, and that happened in such tremendous ways. Many dance and theater groups, martial arts, cooking classes and more took place at the center. Also, a few field trips took place to provide opportunities for students to learn gymnastics and occupational skills that can help them in their future.

Sixty students were enrolled in the summer program to receive the much needed help they need. Of that number, we had 82% attendance each day. Students made quantitative leaps forward in both their reading comprehension and mathematics as they attended computer labs daily. Students were also enrolled in daily history and science classes. This summer has been our best yet, and we look forward to partnering with Danos in the future.
