Hurricane Season Is Here

By: Issac Dantin

Hurricanes are among the most devastating natural disasters we face every year. The season begins on June 1, and already we have seen some activity in the Gulf. Of course there are dangers before and during the storm, but did you know that 95% of accidents, injuries and fatalities associated with a storm occur after the storm has passed?

When picking up after a storm, remember...

  • Take your time, and conduct a thorough hazard hunt before beginning any task.
  • Develop a plan to eliminate or mitigate all hazards.
  • Wear the correct personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Call the safety department at (985) 219-3313 if you have any questions or need any assistance.

Take a moment to look over this Hurricane JSEA so you are prepared.
