The Danos Foundation recently presented a $2,500 grant to John and Ashley Fontenot, the founders of Cooper Life Fund. The Cooper Life Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created with an objective to develop methods of raising money which will aid children and families of children born with heart defects and other serious medical conditions. John and Ashley founded the organization after their son Cooper Fontenot was born in 2004 with a congenital heart defect.

The big event for Cooper Life Fund is happening this weekend! Lace up your running shoes and head to Pinnochio's Pizza in Houma, LA tomorrow morning (Saturday, March 24) to compete in the Super Cooper 5k. Registration starts at 7 a.m. with the race beginning at 8 a.m. Over the last 12 years the proceeds raised have provided medical and social care to over 1900 families whose new born babies were unexpectedly admitted to the Terrebonne General Medical Center – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
