A resident of O’Donnell, Texas, Production Technician Brandon Tomlinson grew up in Tahoka, Texas, farming cotton, sorghum (a type of grain) and cattle, among others. As a fourth-generation farmer, Brandon was the first in his family to leave the business and work in the oilfield. He joined Danos in August 2018 and has since undergone many trainings, including Production 1 Training, Well-beam Analysis and Fluid-Level Training, to name a few.

In his time as a Danos employee, Brandon has caught several near misses such as saddle bearings going out, wrist pins needing replacing and flowline leaks. He has also helped with safety training for new employees.

“Brandon has really stepped up to the plate and has done well for our team,” said Account Manager Aldo Chavez. “He has been requested by his company supervisor and coworkers to be a part of Oxy’s internal safety group due to his keen observations and strong work ethic.”

Brandon was recently chosen by team members and leaders to be a member of Oxy’s Welch Cedar Lake SERE Team. The primary mission of the SERE team is to assist in creating a proactive safety culture in which every employee has an active, positive interest in his or her own safety and the safety of his or her co-workers. Its ultimate goal is to reducing accidents to zero. As a part of the SERE team, Brandon actively participates in the established Oxy Permian Health, Environmental and Safety Management Plan; provides recommendations to management; and promotes improved safety performance.

“I feel like both my dedication to safety and my work ethic have contributed to me being able to help out my fellow team members go home safely each day,” said Brandon.

In his spare time, Brandon spends as much time as possible with his seven-year-old son Blaze, whether it is helping with the family farm, where Blaze is the proud owner of a new pig, or volunteering with Blaze’s Little League team.
