Winning Solar Opportunities

By: Eric Danos

One of Danos’ strategic initiatives is to evaluate the energy transition market to determine if we are actively pursuing renewables work. In this initiative, we are deciding which renewables segments to position for and determining our entry strategy. Danos’ Permian team made up of Juan Torres and John Andrade, Jr. (operations), Paul Quintero (sales), and Stacey Brooks and Brandon Sandridge (recruiting) have done great work to successfully win solar opportunities. These projects are growing our understanding of this market.

Pictured below are Danos employees working in the Grayhawk plant in Kingman, Arizona, for SOLV Solar. Our scope of work was to dress and secure the leads from 75,000 solar panels. Danos installed new zip rings, inspected cables for shorts and damages and replaced burned Bizlink connections on the photovoltaic leads.

Our team has performed similar repairs on three facilities, with seven more waiting for authorization. The cable had originally been installed with a plastic strap that deteriorated in the sun. Before our repair work, the cables would break free from the straps, leaving the cables on the ground where they would become damaged and create a hazard in the facility.
