2019 Strategic Initiatives

What sets Danos apart in many people’s minds is our commitment to Purpose, Values and Vision. This is something we can be proud of. However simply having a strong purpose, clear vision or strong values is not how we will win. We will win when we link these to a focused strategy that we execute with passion. The 2019 strategy has been thoughtfully developed to reinforce our purpose and values while moving us toward the vision. It has been said that vision without strategy is just a dream. The strategic action plan will help make sure we are more than dreamers!

At a recent lunch and learn, project leaders for each of the four strategic initiatives talked about the plans that their teams have developed. Each focus areas is summarized below.

Permian Expansion

This marks the third year of our Permian strategy. During the first two years we were primarily focused on establishing our base. In 2019 our strategy focus will shift to expanding our geography, services and people. The geography project involves expanding our presence west in response to customer activity that has moved to the western side of the Permian Basin closer to and into New Mexico. The services project is aimed at building on the strength of our production business and growing it. The people project will identify and recruit the right people to execute the work we will win.

Project Excellence

Project Excellence is important so that we create value for every stakeholder in our projects. These stakeholders are primarily customers, employees and the community. When we execute projects with excellence, everyone is eager to come back together and do it all over again. This is how we build demand for our services. To accomplish this we will improve our tools and processes and fully develop our teams so that we have the right competencies each time we go to work.

Technology Solutions

This strategy will explore ways to use technology to improve our capabilities to support the work we do in the field as well as seek new ways of providing services to our customers.

Midstream Growth

We will grow our midstream business by identifying projects where we can support our customers’ capacity and delivery constraints. With a tremendous amount of investment in midstream happening right now, we will target projects that align with our competencies and are in our target geographies.

Eric Danos

Eric Danos oversees the company’s finance, safety, human resources and land activities. A third-generation owner and member of the Danos Board of Directors, Eric began his career at Danos in 2004 as an operations manager for the international labor division. Eric has a B.S. in Marketing from Louisiana State University and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
