4WARD: Driving Development

By: Paul Danos

Developing people is a major reason why this company is in business (see Danos purpose). In support of this strategic initiative, we have a map with all sorts of things we are working on to make progress on this. We expect this to be a long-term effort. But a few current areas of focus and progress are:

Capturing and connecting the things we are already doing

The good news is that many pockets of the organization are taking the initiative to develop people without asking permission from the official group that is leading the “Driving Development” strategy. With a little awareness and some effort to communicate, we can pull these things together, make sure others are benefiting when possible, and ensure those isolated efforts are connected to the bigger initiative. You can help by contacting Brandi Caillouet any time you or your group is considering any type of training or development.

Person In Charge (PIC) training

The Production Services and Safety group have come together to present some EXCELLENT training for our production employees who serve as the head person on a platform to ensure we are following our customers’ and regulators’ rules. We have been talking about the need to grow as an organization around the technical aspects of our business. This training is helping us in that area.

Promoting a CULTURE of learning

Culture might be described as something most people in an organization do without thinking about it. Our long-term aspiration is that Danos will be a place where people have tremendous opportunities, resources, and desire to be developed. We are off to a decent start, but we have a long way to go. Stay tuned for more information on our goals in this area.

As long as we're growing from within and not always hiring from without. Our company will continue to grow stronger for the employees will take ownership knowing that they have a stake in the growth of the company as well as having a chance to personal growth.
