Brutus Iron Chef

By: Clay Carter

In the first installment of Brutus Iron Chef, Danos Blaster/Painter- Peter Ly was asked to help the Sodexo food service staff prepare a meal of his choosing. Before hanging up the baking apron for a chemical apron (used to mix paint), Peter spent many years in some of New Orleans finest Asian cuisine kitchens. Peter served the Brutus crew a menu of Chinese dishes that he learned to cook from his grandmother, dishes he served in his own restaurant before coming to Danos.

Peter's story is just one story of the many personnel that make up the Danos blast and paint crew on Brutus. The crew has been recognized by Shell numerous times for their efforts in blasting and painting the hull columns. They now have another recognition from the platform, this time for their abilities in the kitchen. According to those on the tower who tasted the meal, it was delicious!
