Developing Great People

By: Keli Dantin

When the opportunity to join the Danos team opened in April of this year, I&E Project Manager John Andrade Sr. jumped on it, bringing with him nearly 40 years of industry experience and a strong team to support him.

Included in this team is John’s son, John Andrade Jr., who started working with his dad during summers when he was 16. Both are journeyman electricians licensed in Texas and New Mexico, and John Sr. has his Texas Master Electrical License. The two have now been working together for 23 years, and “he’s come along,” says John Sr.

The father and son are not the only impressive part of this I&E team. “The crews that have come on board are key to everything we do. It’s all a team effort,” he says. “Ruben AcostaEdgar Bonilla, Juan Espinosa, Antonio Olivas, Gilbert Uresti and the rest of the crew are a team.”

Lately, his team has been working on installing electrical systems for gas compressors, pictured below. The 6-week project began at the end of August and is located about 28 miles south of Midland.

John gives credit to any success he has to the good Lord, which is why he goes the extra mile to help his team. Not only does John serve as a mentor to his crew on the job Monday through Saturday, but he then spends his Sundays mentoring them on his own. John invites all the Danos team working under him to his house, and he helps them study for their electrical licenses. John is the type of individual and leader we are proud to have at Danos developing great people.
