Finish Strong

By: Issac Dantin

Each year we judge our performance based on last year’s trends, rates, and records. We have made tremendous improvements in 2019 and have areas where we need more improvement. The number of recordable injuries is down as well as the number of employees needing medical care; however, our near misses have increased. I would like to believe that our culture for reporting has been stronger than ever thus, we are seeing near misses reported more frequently. It is our commitment to address these near misses as well as mitigate the associated hazards so that they don’t happen again.

In previous years the three main injuries we have suffered during the last quarter were connected to backs, eyes and hands. I’m asking you to be pro-active. Communicate these three areas of concern with your work crews. We indeed can finish off 2019 strong, we have proven it thus far. When we think about what complacency means to us as individuals, I imagine us in a battle together. Attention to hazards is important, communication is important and performing our strategy (JSEA) is important. If we can identify hazards, communicate them and plan our work properly, all that is left is execution.

There is no team better prepared than our Danos team!
Together, let’s finish the year safe and strong!

We've prepared a few posters for use in your workplace. Feel free to download them here (print them out on 11x17 tabloid paper) or contact the safety department for some pre-printed posters.
