FOCUS: Employee Development

As we approach the end of 2018 and reflect on the strategic objectives, there were many examples of growth and learning that took place and are being planned for the future. Employees across the organization sought out and embraced opportunities to further develop in the classroom and on the job site. These individual and team experiences not only improved employee knowledge but at the same time helped Danos to meet customer needs.

Various sessions were held throughout the year for leadership development, lunch and learn sessions, and competency development. A number of events took place with an emphasis on safety and best practices for application throughout the organization.

Several employees changed positions either through promotions or lateral moves during the year which will continue to provide personal and professional development in their new roles. In some cases, these moves created cascading effects with others which introduced additional opportunities and even further broadened the impact of employee development.

Whether working in the office, offshore or on land, employees continued to grow their knowledge. There are examples of employees earning professional certifications through a combination of study and/or classroom time combined with on-the-job learnings, to receive and maintain the credentials. Danos solved customer challenges by learning new work techniques as well as deploying multi-skilled employees to execute work on customer projects.

While living our value of service and improvement, we were intentional in providing growth and learning to employees in ways that are consistent with our purpose of “…developing great people to solve big challenges for our customers…” which is a win-win for everyone. We remain committed to the purpose and the supporting strategies as we move toward 2019 and well into the future.

Vice President of Human Resources Stacey Gisclair has over 20 years of human resources experience in the oil and gas industry. She oversees the company, human resources and recruiting activities, and champions strategic efforts that support Danos high-performance culture.
