Hess Stampede Sets Sail

Late afternoon on Friday, May 5, the Hess Stampede tension leg platform left Kiewit’s dock in Ingleside, TX under-tow to its final location offshore within the Green Canyon 468 block. Led onsite by Project Manager Keith Rhodes and Construction Superintendent Jeff Lander, the team spent the last 5 months working on the Stampede platform in preparation for sail away.

There were many who made the last few months successful at Kiewit (KOS). Our safety team had no personnel or vehicle incidents. Our operational completions consisted of pre-sail scaffolding, pipeline and flow isolation, isolation documentation, materials management, materials safety equipment installation, fire extinguisher boxes, and life jackets.
