Relay for Life – Luminaria Ceremony

06-Apr-2016

By: Melanie Toups

What is it?

The Luminaria Ceremony is a ceremony of remembrance and hope. It symbolizes a time to grieve for those we have lost, to reflect on our own cancer experience or that of those closest to us, and to find hope that tomorrow holds the promise of a cancer-free world. During this ceremony, candles shine in honor of those who battle cancer and in memory of those who have been lost.

How can I help?

If someone in your life has been touched by cancer, order a luminaria in their honor or memory. Your donation will help fund the American’ Cancer Society’s fight against this disease, including research to help find a cure.
There are four options, each of which can be personalized with your special message:

  • White Luminaria Bag - $10 donation
  • Purple Luminaria Bag -$20 donation
  • Gold Luminaria Bag -$30 donation
  • Luminaria Box -$100 donation

If interested in donating a luminaria in memory of or in honor of a loved one to be displayed at Relay for Life of Terrebonne Parish, please complete the attached form and return to Beth Barrilleaux at Beth.Barrilleaux@danos.com or any Team Danos Relay for Life Member. Employees have the option to be payroll deducted and can send an electronic file with their personal message to be transferred to the bag of their choice.
