Happy Retirement, Tommy!

By: Blake Westerman CSP, ASP, COSS

After 42 years in the industry, Electrician Thomas “Tommy” Racca will be retiring upon completion of his two-week hitch today.

Tommy began his oilfield career as a deckhand working on boats in 1978. Since then, he has had many roles, including his most recent position as a maintenance electrician with Danos, which he began ten years ago.

“I am thankful for all of the opportunities that I have had to provide for my family,” says Tommy of his career.

A resident of Belle Chase, Louisiana, Tommy and his wife Vivian have been married for nearly 37 years. Together, they have one child and now two grandchildren. Tommy plans to enjoy more time with his family during his retirement, and he plans to enjoy more vacations. Additionally, he hopes to be more involved in church activities with more time available.

Although he’s looking forward to these new activities, Tommy says, “I will definitely miss all of the friendships that I have made. There are a lot of great guys working offshore – several have impacted my life.”

Congratulations, Tommy, and thank you for your service to Danos and to the oil and gas industry!
